A Lot Happens After the Photo Is Taken

One of the questions I’m asked most often is:

“How do you make the inside of the home bright while still keeping the windows properly exposed?”

The short answer is multiple exposures and post-processing.

Real estate photography often involves challenging lighting conditions. A room might be relatively dark while the view outside the windows is extremely bright. Capturing both in a single exposure can be difficult. That’s why we capture several exposures of the same scene and carefully blend those images together to adjust color, lighting, tone, blemishes, and composition in post processing.

The final image may look like a single photograph, but there’s often quite a bit of work happening behind the scenes to create that balanced indoor-outdoor look.
